A&C, two adventurous Canadians in love, chose the majestic peaks of Zermatt, Switzerland for their epic elopement adventure! This wasn’t your average adventure wedding; it was a whirlwind 2-day celebration filled with breathtaking views, romantic moments, and a whole lot of skiing and other snow adventures.

First Looks and Historic Charm

Their big day began nestled in the heart of Zermatt’s old town. Cobblestone streets and storybook buildings set the scene for their most anticipated moment – the first look! Butterflies fluttered like crazy as they got ready separately, the wait building before finally catching a glimpse of each other all dolled up. Tears, smiles, and pure joy – their first look before becoming husband and wife was pure magic, captured perfectly against the backdrop of Zermatt’s timeless charm.

Mountains Calling, Weather Stalling

The original plan was to head straight up the mountain for their vows, but hey, mountain weather can be a bit of a wild card! So, with characteristic adaptability, A&C decided to roll with the punches and treat themselves to a delicious lunch instead. This unplanned detour turned out to be a great way to relax, soak up the views, and enjoy some quality time together. Sometimes, the best adventures are the ones that surprise you!

Saying “I Do” with a Helicopter & Breathtaking Views

With full bellies and happy hearts, it was finally time for the main event! A helicopter ride whisked them away to a mountaintop ceremony location. The aerial journey was like something out of a movie, with snow-capped peaks stretching as far as the eye could see. Talk about an unforgettable entrance! Once they reached the summit, surrounded by breathtaking alpine scenery, A&C exchanged their vows. It was a heartwarming and intimate ceremony under the watchful gaze of the Swiss Alps, a moment they’ll cherish forever.

Skiing, Champagne Toasts & the Matterhorn

After their heartfelt wedding vows on the mountain top, it was back down (by train this time) to indulge in another shared passion – skiing! They carved their way down pristine slopes, the wind whipping through their hair and the majestic Matterhorn standing tall in the distance. Reaching the bottom, they popped some champagne to celebrate their new chapter as husband and wife.

Dancing in the Snow and Cozy Fireside Chats

As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the mountains in a warm glow, A&C shared a romantic first dance in the snow. It was a picture-perfect moment, pure joy radiating from them as they twirled under the starry sky (well, almost starry – a few clouds rolled in!). Later, they cozied up by a crackling fireplace, sharing stories and laughter, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

An adventurous Wedding Night Under the Ice (Hotel, That Is!)

Adding a touch of whimsy to their adventure, A&C decided to spend the night in a one-of-a-kind hotel – made entirely of ice and snow! Talk about cool (literally!).  Nestled in this winter wonderland, they soaked in the unique ambiance in their room, complete with a Jacuzzi overlooking the Matterhorn.  After a relaxing soak, they indulged in a decadent Swiss cheese fondue paired with a delicious local wine, the perfect way to end a perfect day.

Nighttime Wedding Adventures: SnowShoeing & Swiss Cheer

But the adventure wasn’t over yet! After dinner, A&C embarked on a night time snowshoeing expedition, guided by the beams of their headlamps. The crisp mountain air invigorated them as they explored the snowy landscape under a blanket of stars. To warm up after their snowy adventure, they enjoyed a toast with some traditional Swiss liquor, adding another layer of local charm to their unforgettable experience.  Back in their room, they found a delightful surprise – frozen roses, a beautiful and romantic touch that perfectly captured the essence of their snowy elopement.

Sunrise, Delicious Breakfast, and a New Chapter Begins

Waking up to a breathtaking mountain sunrise was the perfect way to start their first day as a married couple. The golden light painted the peaks in a mesmerizing glow, a sight that left them speechless. After fueling up with a delicious breakfast buffet at a charming mountain hut, they embarked on another ski run, ready to face whatever adventures awaited them as a couple.
